Valentine’s day is almost here. Are you prepared to impress your Valentine? What are you planning? Perhaps a special dinner or a reservation at his/her favorite place?
I made these cookies and some Red Velvet Cupcakes (recipe coming soon) to start off the Valentine’s week. It also serves as a subtle hint that the day is approaching soon. 🙂
Last year I went all out and made a Brunch. You can read all about it here at Valentine’s Day Brunch. I am still thinking about what I should do this year but you will know all about it in my next week’s post.
For the Valentine’s Cookies, I used my go to recipe that I use for Cookies when I want to make iced cookies. This recipe never fails me and cookies never go out of shape during baking process. If you use it, be sure to use a good Almond Essence for flavorful cookies. The icing recipe is super easy as well. The only thing about making iced cookies is you have to find the correct consistency for flooding and separately for other decoration which is slightly tricky. But once you have made it couple of times, it’s not difficult at all.
I used a flooding bottle to flood the cookies. I used #1 tip for all the dots and lines. A petal shaped tip to make little roses. Be sure to use the Flower button when making roses and gently attach it to the cookie with a drop of icing.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to send email or ask in the comment section.
